インドで玉ねぎに絡んだ凶悪事件が多発！？
経済評論家の門倉貴史先生によると、
今インドでは、
玉ねぎに絡んだ、
凶悪事件が多発しているという。
インドでは、
今災害が起きていて、
玉ねぎが不作で、
玉ねぎの価格が高騰している。
その値段は、
過去と比較すると約4倍程度まで、
値上がっているという。
インドの主食、
カレーには玉ねぎは必要不可欠なので、
玉ねぎを積んだトラックを、
強盗が襲ったり、
オムレツを屋台で買った人が、
玉ねぎの量が少ないという事で、
店主を銃で撃ってしまうという、
事件が発生した。

なんだかネタのような話ではありますが、
これは本当の話です。
インドはインフレの影響もあり、
野菜が簡単に手に入らなくなっていて、
その中でも深刻なのがタマネギだそうです。
他にもタマネギに絡んだ事件があり、
タマネギ価格の高騰に憤りを感じた、
インドの州議員が、
タマネギの価値がお金にも勝るという、
皮肉の意味を込めて、
銀行にタマネギを預けに行った事もあるそうです。
他にも、
日本でも有名なグルーポンサイトで、
タマネギの共同購入による、
破格の割引価格にアクセスが殺到し、
当該サイトのサーバーがダウンしてしまった、
なんて事件も起きています。
極めつけは、
今の話ではないのですが、
タマネギ価格高騰が原因で、
1980年には政権が、
倒れてしまった事もあるそうです。
インドはベジタリアンの方が多いので、
日本とは比べ物にならない程に、
野菜の高騰は深刻な問題なのかもしれません。
