そんなデマをあぶり出し、
人類を正しい道へ誘う。
知りたくなかったダレトク
世の中には知らない方が、
幸せだった情報が、
数多く存在する。
そんな事実を紹介する企画。
今回のテーマは「世の中菌だらけ」。
ペットボトルの飲みかけは要注意
ペットボトルのドリンクを飲んで、
そのまま放ったらかして、
翌日になって、
その残りを飲んでしまうのはよくある光景。
しかし、
実は飲みかけのペットボトルは、
大量の菌が繁殖しているという噂がある。
その真偽を確かめるべく、
調査員が向かったのは、
細菌について日夜研究を行っている、
衛生微生物研究センター。
この施設の李憲俊所長に話を伺った。
李憲俊所長によると、
翌日の飲みかけの飲み物は、
菌だらけを飲んでいるようなものだという。
信じがたい事実なので、
実験してみることに。
用意したのは、
水・お茶・カフェオレが入った、
ペットボトルを2セット。
まず1セットは調査員が、
直接口を付けて飲む。
そしてもう1セットは、
コップに注いで飲む。
これらのペットボトルを、
内側の温度を25度に維持する装置で、
24時間放置した。
菌は大量繁殖するのか
実験結果
コップに注いだ方のペットボトルは、
菌はほとんど検出されなかった。
ところが、
口を付けて飲んだ方のカフェオレからは、
なんと6億個もの菌が繁殖。
そもそも口の中には、
虫歯菌など約300種類の菌が存在している。
口を付けて飲んだ時に、
これらの菌がペットボトル内に混入し、
中の水分や糖分を栄養にして繁殖してしまう。
一方で、
口を付けて飲んだ水は1600個の菌が繁殖、
口を付けて飲んだお茶からは、
ほぼ検出されなかった。
お茶の場合、
お茶の成分であるカテキンが、
菌の繁殖を抑える力があるので、
繁殖しなかった。
とは言え、
カテキンが菌の繁殖を抑える力も限度があり、
時間が経つと増えてきてしまう。
ちなみに元々口の中にある常在菌の為、
基本的には繁殖した菌は無害だが、
長時間放置し大量繁殖してしまうと、
お腹を壊してしまう恐れがあるという。
また、ペットボトルは、
口を付けても冷蔵庫で保存すれば、
菌は繁殖しにくくなる。

率直に感じた事は、
お茶の抗菌作用の凄さですね。
よく風邪を引きたくなければ、
お茶を飲めという話を効きますが、
別の形からそれが証明された訳です。
冬の時期は、
風邪を筆頭に病気で体調を崩しやすい季節。
普段炭酸飲料やジュースばかり飲む人も、
この季節だけはお茶を飲むよう心がければ、
病気にかかりにくなるかもしれません。
