カビバスターである千葉大学の矢口貴志先生が、
カビの中でも健康を害する恐怖の2大危険カビを明かす。
2つ目は、
神出鬼没の極悪肺クラッシャーカビ「アスペルギルス・フミガータス」。
このカビは非常に毒性が強い菌である。
このカビが原因と考えられる病気の死亡者数は、
日本だけでも年間約1000人（2011年）にものぼる。
胞子を吸い込み感染してしまうと、
発熱、咳などの症状が出るという。
肺の中で増殖し、炎症をが広がり、呼吸不全を起こし、
悪化すると死に至ることもある。
このアスペルギルス・フミガータスが生息している場所は、
エアコンの中である。
この菌はほこりがたまるポイントに多く潜む傾向にある。
掃除をせずにエアコンを使えば、
部屋中に菌を撒き散らかしてしまうことになってしまう。
基本的に病気などで免疫が低下している人が感染しやすいが、
そうでない人でも喫煙者は感染リスクが高いという。
特に注意したいのが、
エアコンの使い始め、つまり夏冬シーズンの始まり。
使いはじめる前にフィルターや吹き出し口を掃除することが大事である。
