《今やる！ハイスクール》茂木健一郎「脳が活性化し、やる気を出すドーパミンを出す方法！アウェー（不慣れ）な経験が大事！」

今回は講師の脳科学者・茂木健一郎が、
『脳』をテーマに仕事や勉強に役立つできる脳の作り方講座を行う。
ドーパミンとは？
脳を活性化、やる気、ハングリー精神を出す物質！
ドーパミンとは簡単に言うと、
脳を活性化させる、
やる気にさせる物質である。
世間的には「ハングリー精神」と呼ばれるものは、
ドーパミンが関係していて、
ハングリー精神のある人は、
ドーパミンが多く分泌されているという。
そしてドーパミンが多く出る事も、
偉人たちに共通する脳の構造である。
ドーパミンが多く出ている有名人！
ドーパミンが多く出ている有名人として、
- イチロー（メジャーリーガー）
- 坂本龍馬（偉人）
が挙げられた。
この2人に共通しているのは、
前例のない事をやっているという点で、
ドーパミンが多く出ていると、
新しい事に挑戦したくなると説明された。
ドーパミンはどんな時に出る？
ドーパミンが出やすい状況というのがあり、
ドーパミンはアウェーの時、
つまり自分にとって慣れていない状況の時に出やすいという。
ファーストキスを覚えている理由！？
初体験はドーパミンが出やすく、
脳が活性化され記憶に残りやすい！
例えば普段予備校講師である林修が、
テレビに出演するのはアウェーな状況である。
林修はテレビ出演が決まった時に、
事細かに自分の履歴書を作り、
スタッフに手渡す努力をしていたというが、
このような状況の時、
ドーパミンが沢山出て脳が活性化しているのだという。
より具体例を出すとファーストキスである。
ファーストキスの時期や場所、
その場の雰囲気などは事細かに覚えているもの。
ところが2回目からは覚えていない事がほとんどで、
これは初体験の時はドーパミンは多く分泌され、
脳を活性化させたからであると説明された。
つまりドーパミンはアウェーとなる初体験の時に、
出易く、脳が活性化しているので、
記憶は強く残りやすい。
「慣れ」でドーパミンが出にくくなると、
時間が経つのを早く感じる！
脳は新しい事やサプライズが一番の栄養となっていて、
逆に新しい事、サプライズがなくなると、
脳は元気を失ってしまう。
大人になると「慣れ」によって、
アウェーを感じる機会が少なくなる。
よって脳が活性化されず、
時間が経つのも早く感じがちであるという。
つまり進んでアウェー（不慣れ）な状態を作って、
脳を活性化する事が大事である。
ドーパミンを簡単に出す方法は？
ドーパミンを簡単に出す方法として、
通勤通学で電車を降りる場所をいつもの一駅前にして、
新しい道を歩いてみる等、
新しい発見をする事がドーパミンを出す秘訣であると明かされた。

「慣れ」が進むと、
時間が経つのを早く感じるという話は、
以前にも茂木健一郎先生は別番組でも仰っていましたね。
今回の話で一番関心してしまったのが、
初体験はドーパミンが分泌されやすいので、
記憶に残りやすいという点。
確かにファーストキスをはじめとして、
何事も初めての経験というのは覚えていますし、
忘れにくいものです。
今まで考えてもみなかったですが、
そのようなドーパミンとの関係性とメカニズムがあったのですね。
大人になるにつれて慣れも進み、
かといって新しい事を始めようとしてもなかなか、
おっくうで手を付けられない事がほとんど。
脳を活性化させ若返らせる為には、
そこを奮い立たせて、
どんどんと新しい事に挑戦していった方が良いという事ですね。
