《みんなの家庭の医学》尿もれの少ない鹿児島県民に学ぶ骨盤底筋を鍛える方法！「坂道ウォーキング」

なりにくい県がある。
厚生労働省が将来の医療計画に役立てるべく、
都道府県別の患者数を各病気ごとに調査・発表している。
そこで今回、日本人に多い4つの病を、
都道府県別にランキングし、
病が最も少ない1位の県には、
どのような健康の秘密があるのか調査・公開する。
女性は特に要注意の「尿漏れ」。
尿もれ患者が日本一少ないとされる、
鹿児島県民の健康の秘密（理由）に迫る。

尿もれの最大の原因とされているのが、
骨盤底筋の緩みである。
そこで、
日本大学医学部主任教授の高橋悟先生が、
鹿児島県民に学ぶ骨盤底筋を鍛える方法として、
「坂道ウォーキング」を紹介。
実は鹿児島県は平地が少なく、
シラス台地と呼ばれる丘陵地が多く、
住宅はシラス台地の高台にある場合が多く、
鹿児島県民は知らず知らずのうちに、
日常坂道を歩く事が多いという。
平らな道を歩くよりも負荷が強いので、
坂道を歩くことで、
骨盤底筋がより使われると説明された。
実際に坂道を登った時、
平坦な道を歩くより、
どれほど骨盤底筋が動くか調査した所、
明らかに骨盤底筋の活動量が増えたことが、
判明した。

坂道ウォーキングをしたくても、
近場に適切な坂道がないという方も多いでしょう。
その場合、
階段でも代用が効き、
更に坂道よりも効果が高いらしいので、
そちらで実践してみてはいかがでしょう。
マンション住まいの方はエレベーターでなく、
階段を使用する。
お出かけをする際は、
なるべく平らでなく凹凸のある、
坂道をルートとして選ぶ。
このような小さな積み重ねで、
尿もれが改善されるかもしれません。
