実はこの心筋シートは、
患者自身の太ももから採取した筋肉の細胞を培養し、
作られたものである。

今医師の間で世界初の心臓シュミレーターが注目を集めている。
心臓の3Dデータを元に、
専用樹脂を元に、
3Dプリンターを用いて、
超精密な心臓を再現する。
心臓の血管や心房、
心臓の内部に至るまで、
忠実に再現し、
実際の心臓に近い柔らかさで出来ている為、
切開することも可能である。
患者本人の心臓シュミレーターを使い、
手術前に練習することで、
手術時間の短縮、リスクの軽減など、
手術の成功率を高めることが可能になる。
《もうちょっと調べてみた&所感》
現在日本でも心臓の移植手術は行われていますが、
ドナー（臓器提供者）が見つからなければ、
移植させることは勿論出来ませんし、
拒絶反応のリスクもあります。
そのような意味で、
この心筋シートが実際の治療に使用されるようになれば、
まさに画期的に治療技術になりえますね。
この心筋シートではありますが、
現在から3年後をめどに臨床研究をはじめる予定のようなので、
早ければ、
リオ・デ・ジャネイロ五輪の開催される、
2016年には実際の治療に使われることになるかもしれません。
この心筋シートですが、
いわゆる再生医療と呼ばれるもので、
今まではニュース等で耳にはするものの、
まだまだ身近な存在ではありませんでした。
しかしながら、
臨床研究を目前に控えているということもあり、
近い将来、
私達にとって、
非常に身近な治療技術になっている可能性は大いにあり得ますね。
